the most rewarding investment we have made
“We should have got Classical Sash Windows to service and Draught- proof our sash windows as soon as we moved in. So pleased with the work done, no draughts and no rattles. The house is so much warmer and we have turned our heating down. The team did a great job; clean and efficient and good value – probably the most rewarding investment we have made on our house so far.”

Draught-proofing for sash windows and doors in Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex.
Over the course of time, old sash windows rattle and become draughty, pushing your heating bills through the roof and the heat out of your windows. Our eco-friendly sash window draught proofing systems fit discreetly into your sash windows without compromising the original charm of your beautiful (or soon-to-be beautiful) sash windows. However, they do eliminate the common problems associated with old sash windows, such as rattles and draughts. At the same time, we overhaul the window and replace old cords and fittings. We are an independent company, so we can offer a wide range of insulating products from several manufacturers, to suit every situation. We are extremely proud of our systems and our customers are amazed at the difference after they have been installed. Take a look at our gallery to see some of our completed work.

What’s involved in fitting our
sash window draught-proofing systems?…
The top and bottom sashes are carefully removed from the frame and planed as necessary so that they are correctly aligned and not too tight in the frame. Loose joints are fixed and old locks and fittings removed. Holes and damage are filled with two-part epoxy resin and any loose paint and debris is removed from the frame.Loose putties on the sashes are removed and replaced. Heavy duty, long lasting sash cords are fitted once the sashes are correctly balanced and calibrated and the pulleys are serviced. The sash’s top and bottom meeting rails have a slot routed out to enable the fitting of a PVC weather-strip, ensuring maximum draught proofing on the horizontal rails of the sashes.
Two new timber parting and four staff beads, with a T-carrier inserted, holds an insulating brush pile. The brush pile forms a barrier offering protection from the outside elements. The sashes hold firmly, but not too tight, while rattles and draughts are eliminated and the sashes can be opened and closed with ease.
